First Picture Together
We met in March 2021, after Dillon DM’d Alana on Instagram…
Alana was a senior in high school at Bear Grass Charter School and Dillon was a junior at John Paul Catholic High School. We had our first date at First Watch in Greenville, NC and then Dillon bravely met Alana’s friends and parents on the second date. The third “date” was Alana’s 18th birthday party where Dillon made it official.
That summer, during a trip to the Outer Banks for the 4th of July, Dillon told Alana’s childhood friend, Emily Beacham, that he knew would marry Alana one day.
Hawk Yeah Baby!
We both attended the University of North Carolina Wilmington where we fell in love with living on the coast and always being a short drive away from the beach! This town has become very dear to us due to the positive atmosphere and now shared memories of our college years.
*Fun Fact: for Alana’s entire first year of college, Dillon would drive from Greenville to visit almost every weekend while he finished his senior year of highschool.
Unfortunately, Wilmington doesn’t have a law school so we know we will be moving soon but we can easily see ourselves returning one day to make it our forever home.
Popping the Question
Alana’s one condition for marriage was that they wait until after they each graduate from college to get engaged (and “no proposals on graduation weekends”). Alana graduated in December, 2024 and Dillon graduated in May, 2025. Wasting no time, the weekend after Dillon’s graduation we went on a very convenient trip to St. Pete, Florida. On May 16th, a very suspicious Alana and a very anxious Dillon took a sunset stroll and Dillon finally popped the question. Of course she said YES!
This was an incredibly happy and joyous day for both of us, we’ll never forget the feeling and making the calls to our family and sharing the news. We were also able to spend the rest of our trip in our own little bubble just celebrating and day-dreaming about wedding plans.
Alana would like everyone to know that before asking, Dillon received her dad’s, mom’s, AND twin sisters’ blessing. (Ireland, thank you for saying yes and already loving Dillon like family.)
*Fun Fact: Alana unknowingly made herself “late” for her own proposal and Dillon had to act very nonchalant while the secret photographer waited for us on the beach.
What’s Next?
Alana & Dillon are still living in Wilmington but are awaiting some big news! Dillon has applied to several law schools along the east coast and we’re waiting on decisions to figure out where we will be moving. He has already received one acceptance to a school in Naples, Florida, but we are waiting for all decisions before we make ours!
Since his first year of lawschool will start in August, 2026, we will be moving right after our wedding!
In the meantime, Dillon has been working at an accounting firm and is planning on earning his CPA within the next year. Alana has been freelancing, using her degree to help clients upgrade in all things marketing.
We are so excited to see where this next chapter takes us and so grateful we get to do it as husband and wife!
